If a gas wall-hung boiler is not properly maintained during periods of disuse, it may not only affect its service life but also cause malfunctions or even safety hazards upon its next use. Therefore, the following measures should be taken after stopping the use of the wall-hung boiler.
I. Cleaning and Maintenance
1. External Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the wall-hung boiler, removing surface dust and stains. Avoid using cleaners containing abrasives or corrosives, as these may damage the exterior coating. For stubborn stains, a small amount of neutral detergent may be used, but ensure it is thoroughly dried after cleaning.
2. Internal Maintenance: To ensure the normal operation of the internal components of the wall-hung boiler, it is recommended to contact a professional maintenance technician for internal cleaning and maintenance. Professionals will use specialized tools and cleaners to perform deep cleaning of key components such as the heat exchanger, burner, and fan, removing accumulated dirt, impurities, and dust to prevent reduced thermal efficiency or component damage due to dirt accumulation.
3. Water System Maintenance: Although the wall-hung boiler is not in use, there is still water in the water system. Check for leaks at pipe connections; if any leaks are found, contact a maintenance technician for repair. Also, to prevent the sedimentation of impurities and the growth of bacteria in the water, the boiler's water pump can be started periodically to circulate the water in the pipes for a period of time.
II. Power and Gas Handling
1. Power Management: It is recommended to unplug the power plug to avoid potential safety hazards from prolonged power supply and to save unnecessary power consumption.
2. Gas Shut-off: Be sure to turn off the gas valve to cut off the gas supply. This is a crucial safety measure after stopping the use of the wall-hung boiler, effectively preventing gas leaks and related accidents. Before the next use, have a professional inspect the gas pipes and valves to ensure there are no leaks before turning on the gas supply.
