As temperatures rise, many users' wall-hung boilers have already switched to summer mode, and the use of domestic hot water has entered a peak period. What points should be noted during the summer use of wall-hung boilers to balance comfort and energy saving? What emergency measures should be taken in the event of extreme weather such as heavy rain and strong winds? Let's take a look!
I. Hot water settings should be moderate
The basic water temperature is higher in summer. Considering the comfort of use, the domestic hot water temperature of the wall-hung boiler does not need to be set too high. It is recommended to set it at around 42℃. However, if the bathroom is far from the wall-hung boiler, to avoid the loss of heat during the transportation of hot water in the middle pipeline affecting the temperature, the corresponding value can be appropriately increased. If the water temperature is too high, it will affect the service life of the hot water pipes, causing pipe aging and damage; it will also cause the wall-hung boiler to operate under overload for a long time, resulting in failures, and scale is easy to breed inside, affecting the heat exchange efficiency and increasing energy consumption.
II. Operation should be attentive
01 Avoid frequent switching
On the one hand, do not frequently switch the wall-hung boiler power on and off. Under normal standby conditions, the wall-hung boiler will only consume some electricity to ensure the normal operation of the protection system and ensure safe use, and will not consume gas and water.
On the other hand, during bathing, try to reduce the number of times the hot water faucet is turned on and off. Each time it is turned on and off, the wall-hung boiler will repeatedly perform the shutdown, self-check, and ignition processes, which will cause more energy consumption.
02 Adjust the water temperature, less cold water
In the process of using the wall-hung boiler's domestic hot water, some users worry that the hot water temperature is too high, so they may use the mixing valve to adjust it, but this will cause the hot water flow of the wall-hung boiler to become smaller, and abnormal changes in water flow and water pressure will also cause the host to shut down or cause the water flow to be alternately hot and cold, affecting the comfort of hot water use. If you want to adjust the appropriate water temperature, it is recommended to set it directly through the control panel, and avoid mixing cold water.
03 Pay attention to water pressure changes
Affected by thermal expansion and contraction, the water pressure of the wall-hung boiler will fluctuate in summer, and the normal range is between 1～1.5bar. If the pressure is too low, water needs to be added in time.
04 Full water maintenance
The system should also be kept full of water during the summer use of the wall-hung boiler to ensure normal water pressure: on the one hand, it can prevent the wall-hung boiler from failing to operate normally due to a drop in water pressure; on the other hand, because the wall-hung boiler is a closed system as a whole, full water maintenance can also prevent corrosion of the radiator system.
III. Emergency handling strategies
Due to the frequent rainy weather in summer, many users also worry about whether extreme weather will affect the operation of the wall-hung boiler?
01 In windy weather, only when the wall-hung boiler flue is facing strong winds will the exhaust gas flow back into the flue, causing abnormal combustion or failure of the wall-hung boiler.
02 In heavy rain, normally rainwater will not enter the wall-hung boiler through the flue, unless heavy rain and strong winds may cause rainwater to enter the flue.
If you encounter situations such as exhaust gas backflow into the flue due to strong winds or rainwater backflow, for safety reasons, users should turn off the power and cut off the power supply in time, and then contact professional after-sales personnel for processing. Use it again after repair.
